Bridal Appointment
FAQ's
If you have recently booked your own private appointment with us or are hoping to book to find your dream Lulu’s gown, we cannot wait to meet you!
We pride ourselves on our customer service, our fabulously eclectic choice of gowns and our full styling service.
From the moment you book your first appointment right up until your wedding day, we go above and beyond for each and every single bride.
Our boutique is super friendly, homely and welcoming, our walls are filled with magic and I promise you, won’t want to leave!
Q. Am I able to book my appointment online?
A. Yes! We have made booking your appointments super easy! Click the ‘Book Now’ button on either our Instagram or website which will take you through to our online booking service. This allows you to select a date and time that is the most convenient for you and your bridal party.
Q. How many guests can I bring to my appointment?
A. As we are only a small (yet perfectly formed) boutique, we can welcome the bride and up to 3 guests in the Garden Room and Bridal Parlour. The Gin Terrace can welcome the bride and up to two guests.
Q. Is there a booking fee for my appointment?
A. There is a £25.00 appointment fee for each new bridal appointment, this is fully refunded off the balance of your dream gown and each new appointment is a 2 hour fully styled experience with one of our fabulous stylists in one of our private fitting rooms.
Q. Which fitting room should I book?
A. All of our fitting rooms are beautiful, our ‘Garden Room’ is located on the ground floor, so if anybody in your party requires disabled access or struggles with stairs, this would be the room to choose! Our ‘Bridal Parlour’ is the larger of the two fitting rooms located upstairs, home to our famous green velvet sofa. Last but certainly not least is the ‘Gin Terrace’ room, also located upstairs, this cosy room is perfect for the bride selecting the ‘My Dress Has Arrived’ appointment to try her very own gown on for the first time!
Q. Do I select gowns I’d love to try ahead of my appointment?
A. Yes please! We send every new bride a form to either the email address or phone number provided on the booking 24-48 hours before the appointment date. This allows you to browse all of our gowns on our website and select between 5-10 of your favourites. Don’t worry.. you will not be limited to try just these gowns when you arrive on the day, it just gives your stylist and head start and an indication of your style before they meet you!
This form also allows you to pop your wedding date, gown budget and any other notes you would like to add on there which will help us on the day!
Q. What sample sizes do you carry?
A. Our samples range from a UK12 to a UK22 and all of our gowns are listed on our website with the size we stock each sample in and the price of the gown. Again, as we are only a small boutique, we do only stock each gown in one size. Our gowns clip in really well to give each bride a great idea of the final look of the gown.
Q. What is the price range of your gowns?
A. Our gowns range between £1300 and £3500 for a new gown with the average gown price being around £1800. Our sample gowns start at £400 and can be found on the sale page of our website.
Q. Am I able to try accessories at my bridal gown appointment?
A. Of course! Your stylist will always ask if you are hoping to wear any accessories and give you the option to try and veils/headpieces with any gowns you love! We have lots of new accessories in different styles ready and waiting to be tried on!
Q. What is the deposit amount when ordering my gown?
A. We ask for a 50% deposit to order your dream gown, your remaining balance will then be due around 4 months before your wedding date when your gown arrives in store.
If you would like to order any accessories, we ask for the full payment and they will be ordered with your gown.
If you choose a sample gown, we ask full payment for your gown and then she will be all yours!
Q. How far in advance should I order my gown?
A. With lead times increasing due to the pandemic and Brexit, we recommend looking for your gown 12-18 months before your wedding date. Depending on your chosen designer, gowns can take up to 7 months to be made. We aim for your gown to arrive around 4 months before your wedding date and like to allow around 12 weeks for your alterations.
The more time you allow yourself, the more relaxed the process will be! Of course, we do know that not everyone has this amount of time before the wedding, don’t worry!
We have not missed a wedding yet and you will always have the options of sample gowns.
Q. Do I need to bring anything with me to my appointment?
A. Just yourself! If you have comfortable heels that you’d like to bring, you’re more than welcome to bring your own, however we do provide heels should you wish you wear them. We recommend wearing nude, seamless underwear and a nude strapless bra to give you the best look in each gown.
Q. Do you offer drinks in appointments?
A. Yes! Yourself and your guests will always be offered drinks on arrival. Tea and coffee will be offered, always needed in these colder months!
Lulu’s loves Gin! So gin & tonics will be on offer and also sparkling waters.
If you have any other questions that I may have missed, please do not hesitate to ask!
We can’t wait to meet you!
